Flip / Flick Book

A Flip / Flick book animation is once again using the illusion of movent or persistance of vision to create an animation drawn by hand.

This type of animation is created by drawing an animation in a book page by page and changing the image on each page a little so when moved at speed you get the illusion of movement, this type of animation can be viewed easily on YouTube with some examples of profeesional and amature flip books.

The above video shows an example of a very well made Flip book animation, the advantages of this technique would be that you can create what you want how you want it as with computer programs you may run into problems wondering how to do something, all you need for a flip book animation is pretty much an empty book and a pencil, the disadvantage would be you cant save or have a copy of what you had created incase of a mistake or damage to the book, also if you use a computer program such as Adobe Flash you have a save and also it never looses its quality and stays how it was create forever a flip book will get some wear and tear on it and loose quality and possibly even get lost.
